Review: This Was a Man

This Was a Man
This Was a Man by Jeffrey Archer

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Grande Finale of the seven book Clifton Chronicles takes us almost to the end of the 20th century.
Jessica’s story unfolds. There is some parts in which Sebastian is involved because of course Virginia is up to her usual tricks of fleecing other people to fund her lifestyle. Finally at the end of this series she gets her satisfying comeuppance. Giles and Emma go head to head in the House of Lords.
Answers are finally revealed if Arthur Clifton’s body was sealed into the steam ship at the beginning of the century and whether Emma and Harry are related. All in all a great, easy-read series. It took many years to read this as I was waiting for each edition to be published, so I forgot parts of the story. I recommend these seven books are read one after the others as it’ll be easier to remember the names and the story threads.
