Review: Silver Shadows

Silver Shadows
Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A page turning read from the first to the last page. Continuing from the previous book, Fiery Heart, Sydney is in captivity and being tortured by her abductors, the Alchemists. Adrian is spiralling out of control in a 4 month long drunken stupor and is in a very dark mental space hearing his dead aunt’s voice in his head, because he doesn’t know how to rescue Sydney and feels self-disgust at his failure.
Marcus, the renegade Alchemist makes a comeback and together with the group of friends, breaks out Sydney and her fellow captors. But all does not go smoothly and Adrian and Sydney find themselves being chased around southern California and they have to make a runaway elopement in a Vegas casino chapel to ‘save Sydney’ from re-abduction by her narrow-minded people. Parts of the chase scenes are hilarious and the story is wildly romantic.
