Review: The Tournament

The Tournament
The Tournament by Matthew Reilly

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A light read about a chess tournament in Constantinople that Princess Elizabeth and her tutor Roger Asham supposedly went to which changed her into being the kind of queen she became. It’s totally out of character and voice for these real life people of course, but it was non-the-less a good read. The characters of the sultan, his queen and son, the cardinals and Elsie and Mrs Ponsonby were more realistic.
